About

Unitsi Ai has written poetry since she was a child. She took a few piano lessons at the age of nine but was chastised and discouraged from continuing after her teacher caught her playing by ear and memory rather than reading the sheet music. Nevertheless as an artist, she was determined to create, somehow, someway. She studied Theatre at the University of Tennessee and graduated with high marks, however she was never cast in any of the musicals. In fact, it took nearly 15 more years before she would return to her roots of poetry that would shortly later provide the springboard to her music career.

Coming late into the game and still unable to read music or play an instrument, she knew that she had her work cut out for her. First, she sought out the musicians that she felt played the sounds that were similar to the melodies that she grew up with.

Since then, she has tenaciously sought to continuously learn, write, create, and sing. Just before the Quarantine of 2020 she collaborated with Polish Producer Michael Nocny, and in Jan of 2021, she released a number of singles titled "Carnivore," "Pencil to Paper," "Numb," and "Glow." In June of 2021, she released four more new singles, produced by Anthony Galatis out of Uptown Studios, London, in which they collaborated remotely online between CA and England. In fact, she recorded all of her vocals in her living room.

Currently, she is working on new songs and performing regularly around Los Angeles with her guitarist and producer, Richard Young.
